I only physically see this person on average twice per year. I get a few letters from her and I try to reply and send letters to her, too. Just a few emails and texts here and there.

And with the magic of Facetime… I had a great conversation with someone. All I did was open my computer to check email and… my computer rings.

We went on tangents. Disagreements on how we view ourselves. She saying I’m strong and smart, when I think I’m weak and stupid. I’m telling her to stop and reward herself, she saying she should just keep going.

Her face is glowing. We laugh a lot. We make plans to plan on planning a vacation somewhere. We tell secrets. We tell stories.

We remind ourselves that in 5 years, we will laugh and reflect at our old selves. We remind each other that what has happened and is happening will be another memory. Another life lesson. Another reason to meet again, have wine and reminisce.
